Inclusion trough sport for children with developmental disabilities

24.-25. November 2023 Know – How exchange experience by visiting Iceland in Slovakia
    During the days November 24.-25., 2023 we welcomed delegation of sport representatives from Iceland. The transfer of knowledge was experienced between Special Olympics Slovakia and sport representatives from Iceland from varieties of sport organizations. Through 3 days we exchanged Know – How in many fields. Sport, Inclusion, Ukraine´s help, Young Athletes and more.
The delegation visited Special Olympics Slovakia headquarters and Dream Day center – the center for Ukraine´s refugees’ children with autism.
    All participated at the Unified sport event: The Inclusive sports day. It took place on 25th of November in sport hall ELAN. The Inclusive Sport Day with 20 children with ID (age 6-12) and 11 unified partners (age 6-14) was event full of fun and skills. During the Inclusive Sport Day six sport stations including basketball and football were organized for practicing the basic skills and improvement.
The Inclusive Sport Day – Family Health Forum was prepared for 44 participants. The topic of the Family Health Forum was safeguarding. It was organized with practical workshop and healthy lifestyle for the athletes and the family members and caregivers.
    That day afternoon we were welcomed in the Slovak Olympic Museum, where sport historical goods were introduced to us by the Director of the Sport Museum Zdenka Letenayová.
